YouTube video inside of Google Classroom blocked

There is a teacher that shared an economics video in Classroom and it's blocked inside of classroom, but can be viewed outside of classroom without an issue. What can be done for issues like this? The video isn't blocked by the filter.

Error 150?

If so, it's a known issue, without a current solution.

If not, please share more error details.

If the screen is blank, this is apparently tied to a YouTube update MOA from earlier this year. The bypass that we have found to ensure that students can access YouTube videos is to search the video from within YouTube and if it plays, it will be available for students. If it still does not play, it is marked as "over 18" or "not safe for kids" by the content creator.

All they get is video unavailable. If they right click and does open in a new tab, it will open fine in YouTube.

We've opened a support request for this (as well as inserting some Youtube video into Slides).

What's interesting is that once the link is clicked in Classroom the tab that is opened is "poisoned" and can not even browse to Youtube....yet opening a new tab can visit the video in question and youtube's homepage

The teacher thinks that it was working the week before. It can be hard trusting some of the things that teachers say though as some people still refer to a computer as a modem or a smartboard as a projector.

Even when I go to my test classroom and go to add the video, I get the same video unavailable message. The teacher is not the owner of the video, so I can't check any age related settings? I don't upload videos to be familiar with this either. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPt4AkXP6J0

Thanks for your suggestions. I reached out to Google and had to make some changes in my domain. We didn't have it set to only watch restricted and allowed videos and we had never added approved videos before. After making these changes, I was able to get it working.

Actually, afterwards...I did uncheck the box. I am surprised that Google support told me to check that box...as it created other issues. My gut was telling me that it was wrong to check it and it didn't take long for teachers to tell me. Really all that needed to be done was to add the video as an approved video, which is something we've never done before.

Alright...this is being a bugger again. There was just the one video that I had an issue with, but now there are a lot more I guess. I really don't want to check the box to only allow "restricted and approved videos", but the last time I approved a video, I had that checked. My admin account approved the video before and I wanted to add more videos to the approved list, but the Approve option isn't showing on videos in YouTube now.

I also checked the box for all verified teachers to be able to approve videos and made sure that my user was in the classroom teachers group. I still don't see any options to approve videos. Do I have to check the box to restrict only approved videos to approve them?

Thank you! It's nice to see that they are finally acknowledging it, but I wish there was a better fix. It would be nice to be able to approve videos without checking the box "Signed in users in your organization can only watch restricted and approved videos".
