Welcome to a new week, GEC!

As we continue our month of Digital Well-Being, I’ve been thinking about the difference between screen time and intentional time. Often, we focus on how long students are online, but what would it look like if we focused instead on the quality of their digital interactions?

A Path Toward Balance

How might we help our students recognize when a tool is serving them and when it might be causing digital fatigue?

The Thoughtful Pause: What are some ways you can encourage students to use Gemini as a brainstorming partner that sparks their own ideas, rather than a tool they passively rely on?

Creative Reflection: In what ways do you notice students using Google Keep or Google Tasks to organize their digital thoughts and reduce that feeling of being "overwhelmed" by assignments? If your students aren’t using these tools, maybe this week is a chance to see how Keep and Tasks can help save yourself time.

Intentional Discovery: Imagine the impact of a classroom "check-in" where students share one digital habit that made them feel productive versus one that felt draining. How might this conversation help our students start to set their own goals for digital habits?

Discussion: What can "digital balance" look like in your life this week? What small routines have you found that help students transition from digital work back to classroom connection?
